Faith Community Christian Reformed Church

Brand identity design, web design LEAD, COLLATERAL

Faith Community CRC recently went through a renewal process of updating their mission and vision statements. As part of their renewal, they desired to update the outdated brand identity system and website. The existing visual identity system no longer reflected the message they wanted to put out into the community, and the website was not user friendly for church members or guests. An app was also developed in this process.

When re-designing the brand identity for Faith Community CRC, my goal was to create a system that truly represented the new church vision of 2020: reaching out with the gospel, renewing our community, growing closer to Jesus Christ. From this vision statement, I first created 3 separate icons representing reach, renew, and grow, and combined them into the new church logo. It was important to first communicate the mission and values of the church, but also make the visual identity appealing to the community around the church (members and non-members). This was achieved by using bold but timeless fonts, clean lines in the icons, clear hierarchy in text, and carefully selected colors that suggest growth, wisdom, and a welcoming atmosphere. Throughout all of the visual elements, the design style indicates professionalism while still being casual and approachable.

I built website and app through the Tithe.ly platform, making all design decisions and rethinking user-friendly navigation and better content pages.

I continue to assist with any graphic design-related projects at FCCRC as they arise! I have developed a wide variety of print and digital assets for the church, which I’ve been attending my whole life.
